Inter Ethiopia Featured in FAPA-Funded Ignite Project Visit in Ethiopia
Inter Ethiopia Solution PLC is proud to have been featured during the African Development Bank and Government of Japan’s visit to the FAPA-funded Ignite project in Ethiopia.
The visit focused on the role of small and medium-sized enterprises in Ethiopia’s private sector development. It also highlighted how innovative financing can help local businesses grow, attract investment, and create long-term impact.
Supporting Ethiopian SMEs Through the Ignite Project
The Ignite – Financing the Missing Middle Project supports Ethiopian SMEs by helping them become more investment-ready.
The project is backed by the Fund for African Private Sector Assistance, known as FAPA. FAPA is financed by the Government of Japan and managed by the African Development Bank.
Through Ignite, businesses can connect with diaspora investors, angel investors, and other financing opportunities. This support is important for growing companies that may not have easy access to traditional funding.
Inter Ethiopia’s Role in E-Waste Management
During the visit, the delegation visited selected beneficiary businesses, including Inter Ethiopia.
Inter Ethiopia works in e-waste management, second-life battery solutions, and circular clean energy systems. Our goal is to reduce electronic waste while creating practical energy solutions for communities, businesses, and institutions.
E-waste is a growing challenge in Ethiopia and across Africa. At the same time, it also creates an opportunity. With the right systems, used electronics and batteries can be tested, repaired, reused, or safely recycled.
This is where Inter Ethiopia is working to make a difference.
Building a Circular Clean Energy Future
Our work supports Ethiopia’s circular economy by giving value to materials that would otherwise become waste.
We focus on practical solutions such as second-life lithium battery systems, responsible battery testing, and clean energy applications for productive use.
These solutions can help reduce waste, support green jobs, and improve access to reliable energy.
A Step Forward for Private Sector Development
Being part of the FAPA-funded Ignite project in Ethiopia is an important milestone for Inter Ethiopia.
It shows that local SMEs can play a strong role in solving environmental problems, creating jobs, and building sustainable business models.
We are grateful to the African Development Bank, the Government of Japan, FAPA, and Ignite Capital for supporting Ethiopian SMEs through this important initiative.
Inter Ethiopia remains committed to advancing e-waste management, circular clean energy, and sustainable private sector development in Ethiopia.
