Pre-Africa Climate Summit 2: Inter Ethiopia Launches 1kW PUE System

Inter Ethiopia Solutions PLC proudly participated in the Pre-Africa Climate Summit 2 Exhibition, hosted at the Ministry of Water and Energy Compound in Addis Ababa. The company showcased its innovative work in solar refurbishment, e-waste management, and clean energy solutions designed to power communities sustainably.

The two-day exhibition served as a prelude to the Africa Climate Summit 2, bringing together leading organizations, policymakers, and innovators driving renewable energy and circular economy initiatives across Ethiopia. During the event, Inter Ethiopia Solutions officially launched its 1kW Productive Use Energy (PUE) solar energy storage system, a groundbreaking solution developed from second-life lithium-ion batteries through the company’s e-waste refurbishment program.

Transforming Waste into Sustainable Energy at Pre-Africa Climate Summit 2

The newly launched 1kW PUE system represents Inter Ethiopia’s vision for a circular and inclusive energy ecosystem, where discarded batteries are repurposed into affordable and reliable solar energy storage solutions for small businesses, rural communities, and off-grid applications.

“Launching our PUE solar system at the Pre-Africa Climate Summit 2 is a major milestone in our mission to build a sustainable energy future,” said Aron Nebiyu, Operations Manager of Inter Ethiopia Solutions. “By combining innovation with circular economy principles, we’re turning electronic waste into opportunity — powering livelihoods and reducing environmental impact.”

Empowering Communities Through Clean Energy Innovation

Visitors to the Inter Ethiopia Solutions booth explored a range of clean energy and circular economy innovations, including refurbished solar systems and energy storage units designed to enhance productivity, promote energy access, and strengthen local development.

The team engaged with government officials, development partners, and investors to discuss collaborative pathways for scaling sustainable technologies across Ethiopia.

“Every conversation we had at this summit reinforces the importance of collaboration,” noted Zelalem Nigatu, CEO at Inter Ethiopia Solutions. “Our PUE systems are not just products — they’re tools for empowerment, enabling communities to harness clean, affordable, and sustainable energy.”
